An Evening with Playwright Ifa Bayeza: Theater, History, and Faith Communities

Come hear and converse with award-winning playwright Ifa Bayeza, as she discusses The Rescue of John Price, her new play inspired by the 19th century historic event, the Oberlin Wellington Rescue. How were members of faith communities involved in this pivotal act of civil disobedience in defense of human rights and the abolition of slavery, and what does this mean for faith communities today? Ms. Bayeza will also talk about The Till Trilogy, her three epic dramas on the saga of Civil Rights icon Emmett Till, which recently played to great acclaim at the Mosaic Theatre Company in Washington D.C.
